Where required by applicable law, we process personal data on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract: when processing is necessary to provide the Service you request, such as account login, favorites, map features, and itinerary functionality.
  • Consent: when you grant permission for location access, notifications, or other optional device permissions.
  • Legitimate interests: when processing is necessary for service administration, security, fraud prevention, support, and reasonable improvement of the Service.
  • Legal obligation: when we must process or retain data to comply with applicable law, lawful requests, or regulatory requirements.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share personal data in the following circumstances:

6.1 Authentication Providers

If you use Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple, your login is processed through those providers. They process your information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

6.2 Map, Location, and Navigation Providers

Map tiles, location-related functions, and direction handoffs may involve third-party providers, including OpenStreetMap/OpenMapLayer-based services and your device’s default map or navigation application.

If you choose to open directions to a place, your request may be handled by an external map or navigation app.

6.3 External Review Services

If you choose to leave a review, you may be redirected to Google or another external service. Any personal data you provide there is processed directly by that provider, not by us.

6.4 Service Providers

We may share data with trusted service providers that help us operate the Service, such as providers of:

  • hosting and cloud infrastructure;
  • databases and backend services;
  • push notification delivery;
  • technical support;
  • security services; and
  • diagnostics and crash reporting.

These providers may process data only on our behalf and only for authorized purposes.

6.5 Legal Requirements and Business Transfers

We may disclose information where necessary to:

  • comply with applicable law or lawful requests;
  • protect our rights, users, or the public;
  • investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; or
  • support a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.

7. International Data Transfers

Your personal data may be processed in countries other than the country where you live. Where required by applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that international transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards and that your information remains protected.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

In general:

  • Account data and favorites are retained while your account remains active and for a limited period afterward where necessary to process deletion requests, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, maintain security, and enforce our rights.
  • Location data is generally used in real time to provide location-based features and is not retained longer than necessary for those features, except where short-term retention is needed for security, abuse prevention, or troubleshooting.
  • Push notification tokens and preferences are retained until you disable notifications, delete your account, uninstall the app, or the token becomes inactive.
  • Support communications and technical logs may be retained for a reasonable period as necessary for operational, security, and legal purposes.
  • Backup copies may remain for a limited period before they are securely overwritten or deleted.

9. Account Deletion and Data Deletion

If you create an account in Ohrid Guide, including by signing in with Google or Apple, you may delete your account directly from within the app.

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by:

  • using the Delete Account option available in the app in the Profile section after logging in;
  • visiting http://ohridguide.mk/contact; or
  • contacting us at hello@hoppsolutions.com.

When we receive and verify a valid deletion request, we will delete or irreversibly anonymize the personal data associated with your app account, including, where applicable:

  • your account profile information stored by us;
  • your favorites and saved preferences;
  • account-related identifiers maintained in our systems; and
  • other personal data linked to your use of account-based features within the Service.

We may retain limited information after deletion where necessary to:

  • comply with legal obligations;
  • detect or prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
  • resolve disputes;
  • enforce our legal rights;
  • maintain secure backups for a limited period; or
  • complete other actions permitted or required by law.

Where retention is required, we will retain only the minimum information necessary for those purposes.

We aim to process verified deletion requests as follows: Account deletion is performed immediately when initiated directly within the application. Requests submitted via the contact form on http://ohridguide.mk/contact or by email may take up to 24 hours to be processed.

Deleting your Ohrid Guide account deletes only the account and data controlled by us. It does not delete:

  • your Google account;
  • your Apple ID;
  • any third-party account used to sign in; or
  • reviews or other content you submitted directly to Google or another third-party platform outside the app.

For assistance with account deletion, contact us at hello@hoppsolutions.com.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

These third parties operate independently from us. We encourage you to review their privacy policies and terms before using their services.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date shown above. If the changes are material, we may provide additional notice through the app, website, or other appropriate means.
